Alabama men’s golf ink transfer Dominic Clemons for 2024-25 season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s golf head coach Jay Seawell announced Friday that 2024 Scottish Open Men’s Champion Dominic Clemons will move to Alabama to continue his playing career with the Crimson Tide men’s golf program.

Clemons, who is coming off an excellent sophomore season at Stetson, will join signees Michael Crocker, Nick Gross and William Jennings as part of the Crimson Tide’s 2024-25 signing class.

  • Claimed the 2024 Scottish Men’s Open Championships at Muirfield claiming a 17 shot victory
  • Finish that event with rounds of 68-65-65-62 for a four-day total score of 24 under par 260, beating 144 amateur golfers from 24 countries around the world
  • Will compete in the Amateur Championship (British Amateur), starting June 17
  • Eight years prior to his victory at Muirfield, Clemons won the 2016 Scottish Boys’ Under-14 Open just a few miles away at Craigielaw.
  • Played impressively in his lone season at Stetson in 2023-2024, and was a unanimous First Team All-ASUN selection
  • the year ended with five top-three finishes and seven top-five results in 12 tournaments for the year
  • A three-time ASUN Golfer of the Week, earning all three awards within a seven-week period during the spring season
  • Led the team in all categories, finishing ranked 87th in the nation in the final Spikemark golf rankings
  • Earned ASUN Golfer of the Week honors after capturing the medalist honors at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate with a 3-under par 213 (73-70-70), capturing his first medalist honor at Stetson
  • 2022 First-team All-American at Hutchinson CC
  • Was named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List
  • 2022 NJCAA individual national champion and was the No. 1 ranked junior college golfer in the country
  • Led the Blue Dragons to a national championship
