In the ‘Doctor Who’ universe, it was once believed that the Doctor had a granddaughter named Susan, a detail that dates back to the era of the First Doctor. However, hopes for a family reunion were dashed when it turned out that Susan Triad was not what she seemed.

She had been unknowingly manipulated by an entity known as The One Who Waits. The dreams Susan experienced in previous episodes were actually a means to lure the Doctor to an unknown destination.

As the episode ended, it was revealed that this manipulative entity had intertwined itself with the TARDIS. Finally, his true identity was revealed: Sutekh.

This is where Sutekh’s true plan unfolded: the ‘gift’ that Susan Triad would share with the world turned out to be a deadly attack, evidenced when one of Susan’s team disintegrated into the sand.

And with that ended ‘The Legend of Ruby Sunday.’ Looking ahead, Sutekh’s backstory hinted at what could happen next.
