Dirk Nowitzki, Sergio Ramos among celebrities at Mavs-Celtics Game 4

Some of the biggest names in sports came to the American Airlines Center to watch Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.

Among them were a few European sports icons, such as Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki and footballer Sergio Ramos. The pair took a photo of the track before the match.

Ramos spent much of his career with Spanish superpower Real Madrid, winning four UEFA Champions League titles with Los Blancos. Mavs star Luka Doncic played for the Real Madrid basketball team and led it to the EuroLeague title in 2018 before entering the NBA Draft that year.

The two former Madrid players met and exchanged jerseys before the match. Ramos gave Luka a pair of his football boots and three jerseys, one from the Spanish national team; one from his current team, Sevilla; and a signed Real Madrid shirt from his final season at the club.

Other sports stars spotted at the game included former NBA MVP Joel Embiid, who was featured on the NBA Countdown pregame show on ESPN. He was also spotted in the tunnel chatting with 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.

D-FW native and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was spotted on the court before the game. Murray was a star for Allen High School and later won the Heisman Trophy as a junior at the University of Oklahoma. He also attended Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Mavs and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Outside the sports world, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob said The Dallas Morning News he would be there to cheer on fellow countryman Doncic during Game 4.

The Celtics had controlled the series so far, winning the first three games, putting Dallas in an 0-3 hole. If the Mavericks win Friday’s game, the series would return to Boston for Game 5 on Monday.
