Sunny weekend ahead, temperatures will climb to the mid 90s next week

Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-80s this weekend as Baltimore welcomes visitors for Fleet Week, the Orioles series against the Philadelphia Phillies and the auto show. Several days of warm and humid weather are expected next week.

Some rain and thunderstorms are forecast to begin in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor after 5 p.m. after temperatures reached 88 degrees on Friday. Temperatures should drop slightly this weekend after scattered thunderstorms, which are expected to bring less than a tenth of an inch of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies are expected to remain sunny through the weekend, with a high of 87 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday.

But temperatures are expected to rise to a high of 95 on Monday, and 97 on Tuesday. A high around 95 is expected on Wednesday Juneteenth and Thursday, while the service expects the high to return to 97 on Friday. The warm weather will expected to be accompanied by rising humidity, resulting in heat indexes above 100 degrees every afternoon Tuesday through Thursday, according to the weather service.

Other than a forecast of a partly cloudy evening on Wednesday, the service doesn’t expect much cloud cover or any precipitation over the course of next week.
