McFarlin Tennis Center celebrates 50th anniversary with proclamation by Mayor Ron Nirenberg

SAN ANTONIO – For the past 50 years, the McFarlin Tennis Center has been internationally known for hosting tennis events with thousands of attendees.

However, the San Antonio community knows the McFarlin Tennis Center as a place that welcomes anyone who wants to learn the game of tennis.

Because of the center’s continued support of the community and compassion for the development of the game, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg attended Friday’s anniversary celebration.

Nirenberg also issued a proclamation declaring June 14, 2024 as “McFarlin Tennis Center’s 50th Anniversary Day.”

“Now in recognition thereof, I, Ron Nurnberg, Mayor of the City of San Antonio, hereby announce June 14, 2024, as the 50th Anniversary of the McFarlin Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas,” Nirenberg said. . “The McFarlin Tennis Center’s efforts to serve youth, families and adults are highly appreciated by the residents of San Antonio, as well as the visitors who have come to McFarlin over the years and played and met many well-known professional tennis players. , which gives this place a level of prestige. Best wishes for another 50 years.”

McFarlin will hold summer camps for those interested in playing the game.
