X-Men ’97 Ratings Terrible: Season Finale Absent from Nielsen Despite 75% Increase in Viewership

Well folks, all ten episodes of X Men ’97 have been released and even with the big viewership increase leading up to the season finale, not a single episode has made its way into the Nielsen ratings or the Samba TV charts.

According to Disney, 3.75 million viewers watched the season finale, a 75% increase from the two-episode premiere.

However, as we see from the Nielsen ratings for the week the season finale was released, X Men ’97 is again nowhere to be found.

At the bottom of the Nielsen ratings for the week is Prime Videos Clarkson’s Farm at only 219 minutes (millions), so that means the season finale and all ten episodes are even lower than that number.

Since Nielsen measures all available episodes within a given week, this also means: X Men ’97 was not watched by latecomers who wanted to watch all episodes at once.

It also means that the ratings are even worse than expected if there is a 75% increase in viewers by the end of the season and it still isn’t on the Nielsen ratings, the industry standard for ratings.

That matches my review where I said X Men ’97 gets off to a boring, sappy, and too soap opera-like start, but gets good with the last few episodes of the season (and then ends).

I also have to think that Disney expected much better numbers than what they got, considering it’s “X-Men,” and the original show was watched by 23 million viewers who are all adults now.

The X Men ’97 rating is also lower than What if…?and the MCU’s two least-watched shows, Ms. Marvel And Echo.

Samba TV has also refused to release its details X Men ’97again, where I suspect it is at Disney’s request due to such low viewership, which would come across as bad publicity (Disney has invested in Samba TV).

I also suspect that, like the recent report on the demographic distribution of the Star Wars and Marvel franchises, Marvel is targeting the wrong audience. How are you?
