Vegetation fire in Phelan Friday morning

PHELAN, CA. (Pain in the step) >> A vegetation fire broke out in the town of Phelan on Friday morning. (Photo above is courtesy of Paola Cazola.)

This fire was reported on Friday, June 14, 2024 at approximately 9:12 PM. The location of the flames was on Sheep Creek Road near Yucca Terrace. The fire brigade of Dr. San Bernardino County and CAL FIRE Fire Department responded quickly to the scene.

When the fire broke out, one building was threatened.

By 10:15 a.m. the fire had stopped and approximately 3 hectares had been burned. Firefighters will remain in the area throughout the night for clean-up work to ensure no hot spots flare up.
