2 men killed in JB after exchange of gunfire with police – Mothership.SG



Two male suspects in Malaysia were killed on June 14 after an exchange of gunfire with police in Johor Bahru.

The two people were reportedly high on the wanted list, the Malaysian Post.

The incident took place along Jalan Abad in Century Garden, Johor Bahru.

According to Johor police chief M. Kumar, police received a report at 5.04pm, in which the two male suspects were killed while traveling in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

Fire exchanged

The incident occurred after a Joint Criminal Investigation (CID) team of the Federal State Police, comprising teams from the Organized Crime Investigation and Serious Crimes Department, tracked down the suspects who were behaving suspiciously in a Toyota Estima.

When the suspects realized they were being followed, they ran away while firing several shots at the police vehicle behind them.

Police responded by returning fire on the suspects’ vehicle until the “situation was brought under control.” Malaysian Post quoted Kumar as saying.

Images of the aftermath of the incident quickly circulated on social media.

Guns, substances found in vehicle

Police later found the two suspects dead in their vehicle.

Two pistols were found on the suspects.

Various types of substances, suspected to be illegal drugs, were also found in the vehicle.

One of the men was identified as a 42-year-old with 38 criminal records related to illegal drugs.

The identity of the other man is still under investigation as he did not have any form of identification.

The case is currently being investigated under Article 307 of the Criminal Code for attempted murder.
