Marvel Studios wants Spider-Verse’s Spider-Man 2099 to team up with Kang in upcoming AVENGERS films

Whatever Marvel Studios had originally planned Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (now known simply as Avengers 5) And Avengers: Secret Wars has probably changed a lot in the last two years.

The negative reaction to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania overwhelmed the studio, leading to Jeff Loveness reportedly being fired next Avengers writer of the film. With that, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron took over writing duties for both projects.

The plan now may be to take the spotlight away from Kang, albeit the villain is It’s still expected to be a major part of the Multiverse Saga (albeit with a new actor playing him in Jonathan Majors’ place).

Today we have a crazy rumor to share with you that claims Marvel Studios is looking to throw it Spider-Man: About the Spider-Verse‘s Spider-Man 2099 in the mix!

According to @Cryptic4KQual, a reliable runtime and trailer leaker who has shared accurate inside information in the past: “Miguel’s knowledge and experience with the multiverse (Spider-Verse) would have led to a Kang variant forming an alliance with him.”

“Strength for Kang, stability for Miguel. Some time ago I heard that Marvel wanted this alliance, but Sony felt Miguel was a huge ask.”

β€œWhile this probably won’t happen again (you know why), I’ve heard Miguel O’hara is still on the table and there’s a good chance he could make a live action debut with a new team in the near future ,” they added.

We don’t know which team the scooper is referring to, although Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus has also hinted that there is some truth to what at first glance sounds like a pretty wild claim.

If this had happened – or if it did eventually happen – we might imagine that Miguel would continue to serve in the role of an unwilling adversary as he tries to save the Multiverse, with Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac reprises the role in live-action. That’s a stunning prospect, but perhaps not the craziest thing to happen in these Multiversal adventures.

It sounds like Sony wasn’t willing to play along anyway, so it might be best not to get too excited about this becoming a reality.
