Firefighters were called to a van on fire near Folkestone Harbour

The fire brigade was called after a truck caught fire.

One locomotive attended the incident on Tram Road in Folkestone, near the busy Folkestone Harbour, at 9.25pm ​​yesterday.

Witnesses reported on social media that they heard a loud bang as the fire grew.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue said: “Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the flames.

“No injuries have been reported and the cause is not yet known.”

The vehicle was reportedly a white pickup.

The fire brigade left the site just before 10 p.m.
