It is noteworthy that with the establishment of the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, no service rules have been framed for the officer and employee cadre of the board in the last ten years. As a result, the work on approval of posts, recruitment, promotion, seniority and determination of salary allowances and so on did not proceed smoothly.

The Chief Minister has approved the proposal to amend the service rules for educational qualification, bringing uniformity in the designation of drivers from different departments. In this regard, it has been decided to increase the educational qualification required for the post of driver from an eighth grade to a secondary or equivalent education, the report said.

With this decision, written exams and trade tests can be organized by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board for the recruitment of drivers in future. This will enable the selection of skilled drivers through a smooth and transparent recruitment process, the statement said.
