Car goes on the gravel road in Carthage

No injuries were reported Friday afternoon after a vehicle rolled over in Carthage. First responders were alerted to an overturned car on a gravel section of Michael Road shortly after 1:30 p.m

Upon arrival, emergency services discovered that the car had completely left the road, fallen completely onto its roof and stopped between trees.

There were a man and a woman in the car. Authorities on the scene confirmed that no one was taken to hospital.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol attended and investigated the crash. No further details have been given about the cause of the wreck.

Because the unpaved gravel portion of Michael Road was too narrow for traffic to safely navigate past emergency vehicles, commuters had to turn around and find alternate routes until the vehicle could be removed and the scene cleared.
