Rs10m, mobile phone overcharge during Sialkot wedding celebration

At a wedding ceremony in Sialkot on Saturday, around Rs10 million worth of local and foreign currency and mobile phones were overloaded in celebration, leading to local police filing a case against the groom and the wedding attendees.

According to Saddar Police Station authorities, the groom was decorated with a garland consisting of foreign currency. Express News reported.

When the wedding party arrived at the wedding hall, the relatives and friends present threw millions of rupees as a form of celebration, causing a two-hour traffic jam and inconveniencing the surrounding residents.

Police added that the younger attendees also indulged in aerial gunfire, prompting the DPO to take notice and file a case against the groom and other members of the wedding party.

Authorities conducted raids to arrest the suspect but failed to arrest anyone.
