Four people were killed in separate road accidents in two districts on Saturday, UNB reported
In Mymensingh, two people died when a covered van overturned and crushed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bhoradoba club market area of ​​Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh.
The incident happened around 4.45 am on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
One of the deceased was identified as autorickshaw driver Abdul Halim (40), son of Amir Uddin Mandal in Bailor area of ​​Trishal upazila, and the identity of the passenger is yet to be known.
Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhoradoba Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.
The two people died on the spot, he said.
Both vehicles were recovered and taken to the highway patrol station, the OC said.
In Cumilla, two persons died on the spot when their truck lost control and rammed into a covered van in the Suagazi area of ​​Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at 8.30 am on Saturday.
Md Ikbal Bahar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Moinamati Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident.
Police say the truck overspent, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the van ahead. The two occupants of the truck were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police recovered the vehicles involved in the collision along with the bodies.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, but it is suspected that it concerns the truck driver and his assistant.
