Bryson DeChambeau made an exciting rise up the rankings at the 2024 US Open on Saturday. When he wasn’t on his back, that is.

When he made the turn one under par during the third round at Pinehurst No. 2, DeChambeau called for a trainer. NBC’s Jim “Bones” Mackay reported that the 2020 US Open champion had had torn ligaments in both hips for some time and had become “tight”.

That said, his hips looked fine when DeChambeau uncorked another bomb on No. 10, leading to a birdie. Then the physio on the side of the 11th tee had some work done on him.

DeChambeau asked cameras to stay away, but NBC captured drone footage where you can see him on the ground being worked on:

After it was worked on, DeChambeau hit a 359-yard drive down the middle of the fairway on the 11th hole and made another birdie as he took the solo lead.

“What’s that physio’s number?” NBC’s Dan Hicks joked moments later.
