Klopfenstein Introduces Legislation to Honor Purple Heart Recipients

State Rep. Roy Klopfenstein (R-Haviland) has introduced legislation to honor service members who have received the Purple Heart.

A portion of US 24 to the Paulding County line will be designated as the “Paulding County Purple Heart Memorial Highway.” Purple Heart recipients are military personnel who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

“As we honor our service members during Military Appreciation Month, I wanted to introduce legislation that will serve as a visual reminder to commemorate our veterans who fought bravely to protect our freedoms,” Klopfenstein said. “We owe our service members a debt that can never truly be repaid. May God bless our fallen heroes and military members at home and abroad.” The measure is awaiting a bill number and committee assignment.
