Dartmouth police arrest a man on narcotics charges after a car crash

DARTMOUTH – Dartmouth police arrested a Middleboro man on narcotics charges early Saturday after his vehicle struck a tree on Faunce Corner Road.

At approximately 12:05 p.m., police responded to a report of an accident at 856 Faunce Corner Rd.

At the scene, officers found a car that had crashed into a tree.

During their investigation, police discovered a bag containing suspected psilocybin mushrooms and a large amount of cash in the car.

A further search revealed pills suspected to be Oxycodone and Xanax, a psilocybin chocolate bar, marijuana vape cartridges, $1,262 in cash, a Glock-style BB gun, a black ski mask and other items they are believed to be related to the illegal sale of narcotics.

Shawn Walsh, 20, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Class B, Class E and Class C substances.

Patrolman Max Szteliga was the arresting officer.

Walsh is being held pending arraignment.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
