Yoga Session: Yoga Session for Pregnant Women held at KGMU | Lucknow News

Lucknow: As part of the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga, a yoga session for pregnant women was organized at the gynecology and obstetrics department of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) on Saturday. The session was jointly organized by KGMU and Luckow University. During the session, pregnant women performed ‘yogic sukshma vyayam’, ‘tadasana’, ‘vajrasana’, ‘bhadrasana’ and ‘padmasana’, which are beneficial for both mother and child. They also performed ‘nadi shodhan, bhramari uddageet pranayamo. Coordinator of LU’s yoga department, Amarjeet Yadav, said, “A balanced diet is necessary during pregnancy as it provides proper nutrition to the mother and the baby growing in her womb. Yoga and meditation during pregnancy relieve stress.” Dean, Students Welfare, KGMU, Prof. RAS Kushwaha said that yoga keeps pregnant women healthy.
