Pearl Ellis Gallery offers mini paintings and more in Comox during Summer Fest

The Pearl Ellis Gallery is officially part of this year’s Comox Summer Fest on Saturday, June 22.

The Pearl Ellis Gallery is officially part of this year’s Comox Summer Fest on Saturday, June 22 from 10am to 5pm.

This lively annual event brings summer fun to downtown Comox, with more than 40 vendors, live entertainment, special offers from local businesses and family-friendly activities.

Pearl Ellis Gallery will set up a booth in front of the gallery, where they will offer custom mini-paintings created live by their talented affiliate artists. Visitors can request a subject: from a tree or flower to a night sky or a baseball glove. Visitors will have the opportunity to see these talented artists at work and receive a personalized mini masterpiece. While the event is free to attend, participants are encouraged to donate to support the gallery’s ongoing programs and initiatives.

“We are excited to host this fundraiser and share the artistic process with the community,” said Susan Sarada, vice president of board for The Pearl Ellis Gallery. “It’s a great opportunity for individuals to support local art and take home a unique piece made just for them.”

In addition to the gallery’s event, the Comox Museum, which shares space with the gallery, will host a cooling station at the gallery and museum. Visitors can go inside to cool off in their air-conditioned areas and enjoy a complimentary cold drink. Inside, visitors can watch the current show, Emerging Voices, The Pearl’s annual high school show. This year’s show features paintings and sculptures by students from Highland Secondary and Georges P. Vanier high schools.

All proceeds from donations will go towards funding future exhibitions, workshops and community outreach programs hosted by The Pearl Ellis Gallery.
