Body of a Singaporean woman found in an apartment in Vietnam

SINGAPORE: A Singaporean woman who was reportedly last seen in January was found dead in an apartment in Vietnam on Thursday (June 13).

According to Vietnamese media, the woman’s body was discovered in the Goldview condominium in Ho Chi Minh City.

The woman, whose name has not been given, was last seen on January 31, Vietnamese daily Nguoi Lao Dong reported.

The apartment owner found the body and alerted the condominium management committee. The police were then called.

Initial investigation revealed that the owner had not rented out the apartment and that the last recorded use of the unit’s elevator access card was on January 31, Vietnamese media said.

In response to questions from CNA, Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said its Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City has been in contact with local authorities regarding the case.

MFA and the Consulate General provided assistance and support to the woman’s family.

“We express our deepest condolences to the family,” a ministry spokesperson said. “MFA cannot comment further on the matter as the investigation is ongoing.”
