Lotto announces the end of the ticket buying service that started in 2016

Lotto has announced it is ending one of its ticket buying services, with the changes coming into effect tomorrow morning.

The Text to Play service, which allows customers to send Powerball jackpot reminders to their phone that they can respond to and purchase a ticket, will end on June 16.

“Our Text to Play service will end on June 16, 2024, which means you will no longer be able to play our games via text message,” Lotto said in a statement on its website.

“Luckily, there are numerous other ways to purchase a ticket, such as setting up a subscription or playing on the MyLotto app, and now is the perfect time to start looking at different options.”

Lotto said the service is ending because fewer people are using it.

The service first started in 2016.

Those with a Text to Play subscription do not need to do anything as any outstanding subscriptions will end on Sunday, Lotto said.
