Where will EURO 2024 be held?

Germany will host EURO 2024 after being chosen to host the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship at a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Nyon on September 27, 2018. Türkiye was the only other country to apply to host of UEFA EURO 2024. West Germany hosted the 1988 Edition, but this is the first time Germany has hosted the UEFA European Championship since reunification. The 2006 FIFA World Cup also took place in the country.

What are the dates for EURO 2024?

The UEFA EURO 2024 final tournament started on June 14 and will run until July 14, 2024. The group stage ends on June 26 and the knockout stage starts on June 29.

As hosts, Germany was placed in Group A and occupied position A1; they therefore played the opening match – a 5-1 win against Scotland – at the Munich Football Arena on Friday 14 June. Germany/West Germany have featured at every European Championship since 1972. West Germany won the 1972 and 1980 editions, while the reunited Germany triumphed at EURO ’96.

Who qualified for the European Championship?

The draw for the final tournament took place in Hamburg on Saturday, December 2.

What is the tournament format?

The format is the same as for UEFA EURO 2020. The top two in each of the six final tournament groups will advance to the round of 16, along with the four best third-placed players.

Is there an official EURO 2024 match ball?

FUSSBALLLIEBE, the official match ball of UEFA EURO 2024, will be used during the final tournament. It was unveiled by UEFA and Adidas in November 2023 at a special event in front of the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Who is the mascot of EURO 2024?

The official tournament mascot is named Albärt following a vote among users and schoolchildren across Europe, through the UEFA Football in Schools programme. Albärt, a teddy bear, won 32% of the votes. The ursine mascot was first introduced to German fans in Gelsenkirchen in June 2023, ahead of the national team’s friendly match against Colombia.

The volunteer team is complete! More than 146,000 football fans submitted their applications to become volunteers at EURO 2024, after which 16,000 volunteers from 124 countries were selected.

Being a volunteer is a unique adventure: a hands-on job that includes everything from interacting with fans to driving trucks and assisting with accreditations. The volunteers will represent Germany at the event in the ten host cities and stadiums, welcoming guests from all over the world and playing a central role in making the tournament a EURO for all, bringing to life the motto ‘United by Football’ .
