Amy Poehler Says She’d Like to Be a Captain on Bravo’s ‘Below Deck’ and Talks Why She Wouldn’t Do Well on ‘Survivor’

Amy Poehler shares her love for reality TV and confessed that she would like to be a captain Below deck.

However, even though the Inside out 2 star said she would compete on Bravo reality series, she said she wouldn’t do well on a competition show like Survivor.

“I’d like to be the captain on the lower deck,” she said Cosmopolitan Britain in a recent interview. “It would be hard for me not to be the captain, but then again, I don’t know how to drive a boat, so I feel like that would get in the way.”

She continued, “You wouldn’t know it at first. I would pretend for a few days, I guess, but then I would get fired.”

The Saturday evening live alum also explained why she likes the Bravo reality franchise.

“The reason why I like it is because I like the work that everyone has to do,” she said. “For example, I care whether they turn the boat over or not. I want to see how they clean the bathrooms and stuff. That’s what I’m doing.”

She added: “I don’t get it about reality shows where everyone hangs out and there’s no job, they just go out to eat. That causes me a lot of stress.”

Poehler said she draws the line at more physical shows, adding, “I would definitely, probably, leave pretty early because I wouldn’t be very good at…I tend to tell people things that they support , instead of behind their backs. So I think I would be voted out pretty quickly.”

Despite saying she would be eliminated early in the competition, Poehler said, “I would leave with my head held high. I don’t think I would leave in disgrace – I hope not! The tribe will have spoken, and I will accept the tribe’s word if they want to kick me out.”
