Fire breaks out Saturday near Summit Valley in Hesperia – VVNG.com

HESPERIA, California (VVNG.com) – Firefighters are busy battling a fast-moving, wind-driven brush fire near Summit Valley.

The fire was reported on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at approximately 6:00 PM near Highway 173 and Summit Valley Road.

According to the last update, the fire was 4 hectares in size at 6:30 PM. Gusty winds are quickly fanning the fire and pushing the smoke toward Apple Valley/Lucerne Valley.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the fire may have been started by fireworks set off at a home near Lake Arrowhead Road.

Crews have requested a hard road closure at Ranchero Road and Lake Arrowhead Road.

Firefighters are also busy battling a new fire in LA County heading into Lancaster and smoke from that fire is already starting to make its way into the city of Adelanto.

This is a developing story and will be updated as it becomes available.
