The Bikeriders premiered earlier this year at the Telluride Film Festival to positive reviews. It currently holds an 81% rating on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes after 230 reviews.

In an exclusive interview with Digital spydirector Jeff Nichols explained how the film explores the idea of the biker.

“People come to this film with an idea of what they think these people are. What’s interesting is when you find out that they’re potentially a little bit more, potentially a little bit more complicated, more dynamic,” he said.

“That’s how I felt when I entered the world of Danny Lyons’ book, that maybe I had some judgments here, and now these people are talking in a way that I identify with. That’s when it gets interesting. Masculinity is hard to define,” Nichols added.

In the same interview, Tom Hardy added: “I think when you look beyond what’s in something, you understand the connection between people and how they function better.”

The actor also said that he would like to work with Austin Butler again in the future.

The Bikeriders is now available to rent or purchase at Amazon, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
