HyunA’s agency has confirmed that the young artist and her boyfriend, Yong Junhyung, are preparing to tie the knot in October this year.

On July 8, South Korean news agency YTN was the first to report that international artists HyunA and Yong Junhyung would get married in Seoul on October 11.

Hyunya is a globally known artist. She entered the industry in 2006 as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls, while Yong Junhyung rose to fame after her debut in 2009 with the boy band Highlight (formerly BEAST).

YTN reported, citing an entertainment industry insider who was privy to their relationship. The insider told a YTN reporter, “They have been friends for a long time and understand the difficulties of life in the entertainment industry very well. Their trust and faith are strong. Because they cherish each other and have empathy for each other.

“Recently they developed their relationship as a couple and decided to get married because they believe in their love. We hope for more active movement after the wedding. Because they share positive energy with each other.

HyunA’s agency AT AREA confirmed the reports, saying, “HyunA and Yong Junhyung will have their wedding in October, inviting only close friends and family. They are starting a new chapter in their lives. HyunA accepted Yong Junhyung’s marriage proposal and they comforted each other during difficult times.”

The agency added: “We would like to thank everyone for their warm support and ask fans to wish HyunA the best for her future as she makes this important decision, both as an artist and as an individual.”

HyunA and Junhyung previously worked together as members of Cube Entertainment under the names 4Minute and BEAST, appearing together on stage and in variety shows.
