A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Tuesday for a Boardman man convicted in an OVI crash in Austintown that injured two people.

According to state police, Chad Vodhanel drove a car across the center line of Route 46 in February and collided with an oncoming SUV.

The 66-year-old Austintown woman driving the SUV was seriously injured. A passenger in her vehicle was also injured.

Vodhanel pleaded guilty last month to aggravated assault and driving under the influence.

After being sentenced Tuesday morning, Vodhanel has another hearing in Canfield District Court for another accident, a month after the February crash.

A police report shows that on March 16, Vodhanel was driving a pickup truck that crashed into the back of another car at a red light at the intersection of Tippecanoe and Sheilds Roads.

No one was injured. Vodhanel was fined for not maintaining a safe distance and driving under an OVI license suspension.

On Monday, an Austintown judge sentenced Vodhanel to 60 days in jail after city police ticketed him in April for driving a pickup truck while his license was suspended.
