“It’s a beautiful love story for eternity”

83 Actor Saqib Saleem, a close friend of newlyweds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, recently spoke to Hindustan Times about their intimate wedding ceremony. “Sona and Zaheer have been a part of my life for the last six-seven years. So when you spend the most important years of your life with people like them, and wherever i was. It doesn’t feel like you’re doing anything (specially for them). It just felt like chi ghar ki shaadi ho rahi thi“, Saqib Saleem told Hindustan Times.

“We all grew up together, traveled together, ate together, watched movies together and partied together. So after all this you don’t think so much about who does what (during a wedding). We are sorry, we are coughing and we are going to eat. We were all there for both Sona and Zaheer because this is a beautiful love story for eternity and we wanted to be a part of it,” the actor said.

For those who don’t know, Saqib Saleem is set to star in the upcoming horror comedy Kakuda, in which he plays the role of Sonakshi Sinha’s husband.

Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal a few weeks ago in a private ceremony at her apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. A video of their registration ceremony went viral. Priyaank Sharma, who was present at the wedding, shared a video on his Instagram stories. In the video, Sonakshi is seen walking down the aisle while her good friend Saqib Saleem holds the phoolon ki chhadar. For the registration ceremony, Sonakshi wore her mother’s vintage saree and jewellery. Priyaank Sharma shared the video along with a series of heart emojis.

Sharing their wedding pictures, the couple wrote, “On this day, seven years ago (23.06.2017) we saw love in its purest form in each other’s eyes and decided to hold on to it. Today, that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both Gods… we are now husband and wife. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal registered their marriage under the provisions of the Special Marriage Act. The civil marriage took place at the bride’s new apartment, 81 Aureate, located near Rang Sharda Auditorium in Bandra West, Mumbai, IANS reported.
