Good Samaritan pulls 4 from water, but 1 missing after boat submerges

The U.S. Coast Guard said five people were aboard the tugboat when it capsized in eastern Harris County. Four people were recovered and stable, but one is still missing.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities are searching for one person missing after a tugboat capsized in waters off eastern Harris County Friday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, five people were aboard the tugboat when it capsized just before 3 p.m. at 16500 Peninsula Boulevard, near San Jacinto Boulevard.

Four of the five people were pulled from the water and stabilized.

A Coast Guard helicopter and boats along with a Harris County dive team are searching for the missing person.

The USCG praised a Good Samaritan for helping to recover the four rescued passengers.
