AIFF appoints Spaniard Manolo Marquez as coach of Indian men’s football team ‘with immediate effect’

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday appointed Manolo Marquez as the new coach of the men’s national team, replacing Igor Stimac, who was sacked last month.

“The All India Football Federation Executive Committee meeting deliberated on the appointment of the new Head Coach of the Men’s National Team and selected Manolo Marquez for the post, which took effect immediately.

“During the 2024-25 season, Mr. Marquez will continue in his role as Head Coach of FC Goa’s first team, fulfilling both responsibilities concurrently before assuming the role of National Coach on a full-time basis,” the AIFF said in a statement.
