Bonnie Sue Janes, 85, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Adair County on October 15, 1938, the daughter of the late Will and Ada Pearl Keltner Shirley. She was preceded in death by her husband Ollen Davis Janes on February 24, 2024.

Mrs. Janes was a member of Pickett’s Chapel Church and the Adair County Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, photography, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include one son Barney Janes (Doris) of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Sarah Streeval (Keith), Michael Janes, John Janes, and Rebecca Godsey (Alan); eleven great-grandchildren Timothy, Matthew, Zachery, Jackson, Benjamin, Katelyn and Madelyn Streeval, Christian and Wade Janes, and Merlin and Christina Godsey; two siblings John Shirley and Ellen Wiggs.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Bella Streeval and four siblings: Robert and Allen Shirley, Sally Smith, and Mary Keltner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in Tarter’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue until the time of service Monday morning at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Larry Wisdom and Bro. Larry Huckaby will officiate, and pallbearers will be Michael Janes, John Janes, Keith Streeval, Alan Godsey, Timothy Streeval and Steve Smith.
