BENGALURU: A popular Kannada film and TV serial director committed suicide at his Nagarabhavi residence on Saturday. The reason behind this extreme step is not yet known.

The deceased has been identified as Vinod Dondale and his body has been shifted to Victoria Hospital for autopsy. Vinod was trained by famous Indian film and serial director P Sheshadri and TN Seetharam.

He was busy shooting for the film ‘Ashoka Blade’, starring actor Neenasam Satish in the lead role. Vinod had worked in both serial and film industries. He had recently discussed the shooting with Satish and the producers, and the climax of the film ‘Ashoka Blade’ is still pending.

Vinod has also directed several serials including ‘Nannarasi Radhe’, ‘Karimani’ and others. He is survived by his wife and three children.
