Protesters swarm White House to grab Biden

Protesters have marched to the White House to block Joe Biden from the election.

Former President Donald Trump said Friday afternoon that he had a “very good” phone call with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky, in which the latter condemned last week’s attempt on his life via Mediaite.

According to NBC News, Zelenskyy was expected to call Trump a day after accepting his party’s nomination at the Republican National Convention and six days after Trump was hit by a bullet from a potential assassin.

Trump posted on his Truth Social app on Friday that such a call did indeed take place and described Zelensky’s response to the assassination attempt:

President Zelenskyy of Ukraine and I had a very good phone conversation earlier today. He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and on being the Republican candidate for President of the United States.

He condemned Saturday’s horrific assassination attempt and noted that the American people come together at this time in the spirit of unity.

I appreciate President Zelenskyy for his support, because as your next President of the United States, I will bring peace to the world and end the war that has cost so many lives and devastated countless innocent families. Both sides will be able to come together and negotiate a deal that will end the violence and pave the way to prosperity.

Zelenskyy’s call with Trump came at a time when many election forecasters had said they believed the former president could win in November, defeating President Joe Biden if he did indeed remain on the ballot.

Under a second Trump administration, Ukraine’s ongoing defensive war against Russia would be heavily influenced by Trump, who has called on both sides to end the conflict.

Trump’s running mate JD Vance had previously expressed apathy about the outcome of the war and called on Washington to focus more on domestic issues.

It has been noted that the former president was impeached after a 2019 phone call with Zelenskyy in which he was accused of attempting to force the Ukrainian government to investigate then-Vice President Biden or withhold military aid. Trump was not convicted in the Senate on charges of abuse of power and obstruction.
