The Cleveland Cavaliers have fully committed to their beloved big man Evan Mobley.

On Saturday, it was announced that Mobley has agreed to a five-year, $224 million extension with the Cavaliers. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the amount is the rookie cap and has built-in incentives that could push the dollar amount to $269 million.

Mobley’s contract extension comes just weeks after the Cavaliers signed All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell to a shiny new extension.

Last season, Mobley averaged 15.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

In his three years with the Cavaliers, Mobley has proven to be a defensive force who can cover multiple positions. But the 6’11” forward has yet to develop into a difference-maker on the offensive end of the court. Cleveland is likely counting on Mobley to make a leap in that area in the coming years.

The Cavaliers may not be done making moves just yet. Cleveland has recently been linked to a former All-Star who has been unable to find a home this offseason.
