In conversation with Gizmodo, Kevin confirmed that Spiderman 4 was in development.

“Amy (Pascal, who has several Spider Man films) and I am working on it,” he promised. “We have writers who will give us a draft soon.”

One thing that will be different about the film is that fans likely won’t… Jon Watts this time in the director’s chair. If you didn’t know, he directed all three Tom‘s standalone films in the franchise.

“We love Jon. Jon did three of the best Spider Man movies for us. He’s got a lot of stuff going on right now. So we’ll probably have to find someone else, just because he’s busy,” Kevin told CinemaBlend.

When asked about the arrival of mutants, Kevin said it would be very difficult to decide which heroes would appear in the film.

“Well, it’s that phrase we use a lot at Marvel, which is, ‘It’s an embarrassment of riches,'” he told Gizmodo. “And there’s a lot of great X-Men characters in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. There are many great X-Men characters in all of the Fox versions of the X-Men movies. And there’s a lot of great X-Men characters that have never been on the big screen. So I think that’s something we always try to do, like we did when we signed the deal with Sony for Spider Manyou’ll likely see a mix of characters you’ve seen before and characters you’ve never seen before.”

He continued by saying that he looked forward to introducing “the soap opera elements of that world” into the MCU.
