Xiaomi has unveiled its new foldable phones, the Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip. The Mix Fold, which we’ll cover in a separate article, is the company’s first foldable phone to feature a clamshell design, while the Mix Fold 4 follows in the footsteps of models from previous years.

The Mix Fold 4 will compete with new foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Honor Magic V3. While the Mix Fold 4 is generally similar to its predecessor, a few changes to the design of the rectangular camera module are notable. The module has been slightly enlarged and the bottom edge is also curved.

The power button on the Mix Fold 4 also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The foldable phone features Xiaomi’s Dragon Bone Engine 2.0 technology, which is said to improve reliability while remaining thin. Designed with the T800H high-strength carbon fiber architecture to reduce weight, the Mix Fold 4’s hinge is said to be able to withstand 500,000 uses.

The phone is 9.47mm thick when folded and 4.59mm when open. The phone weighs 226 grams and has an IPX8 water resistance certification.

The Mix Fold 4’s 6.56-inch outer display curves in all four directions. The 7.98-inch foldable display offers a resolution of 2488 x 2224 pixels. Both displays use an OLED panel, while a 120Hz refresh rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, HDR10, HD Vivid, and Dolby Vision support are also common features of the displays. One of the phone’s front-facing cameras is housed in the ultra-thin, glass-covered foldable display.

The cameras of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 were developed in collaboration with Leica. On the back, the main camera is a 50-megapixel sensor. A 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 50-megapixel portrait telephoto camera with 2x zoom and a 50-megapixel periscope camera with 5x zoom complete the system. In the camera application, users are offered filters and photo styles developed in collaboration with Leica.

At the heart of the foldable phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The RAM options that come with this processor reach up to 16GB. The maximum storage option is 1TB. The phone gets the power it needs from a 5100mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

How much should I pay for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4?

Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will be sold in China starting at 8999 yuan (40911 TL). For this price, users will get 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Color options are black, white and blue.
