New projects

Chester Water Authority has begun relocating a water main near Delaware County on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) under a $10.4 million PennDOT project to widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway from the Kennett Oxford Bypass to Greenwood Road in Kennett and East Marlborough townships, Chester County. The scheme:

US 1 (Baltimore Pike): Through August 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a northbound lane closure between Orchard Avenue and Greenwood Road on weekdays.

Interstate 476

July 22 to July 26: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a lane closure on the ramp from northbound I-476 to US 30 (Exit 13) in Municipality of Radnorfor bridge repair. Traffic from the on-ramp through the US 30 (Lancaster Avenue) intersection is controlled by flags.

July 22 to July 26: From 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. the following morning, a lane closure on northbound portions between the Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) interchanges due to guardrail replacement.

July 22 to July 26: From 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. the following morning, portions of the road southbound between the I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and I-95 interchanges will be closed for paving.

July 22 to July 26: From 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. the following morning, there will be a lane closure on the on- and off-ramps of the US 1 (Lima/Springfield) Interchange (Exit 5) in both directions. Municipality of Marplefor milling and paving.

Municipality of Newtown

Route 3 (West Chester Pike): On July 24 and 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, there will be one lane closure in both directions between St. Albans Avenue and Bryn Mawr Avenue for curb and sidewalk construction.

Route 3 (West Chester Pike): From July 21 through July 23, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, the lane between Boot Road and Charles Ellis Drive will be closed for milling and paving.

Bryn Mawr Avenue: will be closed at Route 3 (West Chester Pike) from 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 26 through 6:00 a.m. Monday, July 29 for drainage installation. Local access will be maintained to the work zone.

Ongoing work

Southbound Route 452 (Market Street): Through August 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, lane closures between Beech Street and Ridge Road, Upper Chichester and Lower Chichester townships, utility construction by the Southern Delaware County Authority.

Close to Delco

US 1 (Baltimore Pike): Through August 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a weekday lane closure from Greenwood Road to just south of Schoolhouse Road.

Route 3 (West Chester Pike): Through November 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a weekday lane closure between Garfield Avenue and Spring Lane in West Goshen Township due to the demolition and reconstruction of the concrete median.

South Creek Road Bridge

South Creek Road: will be closed 1,200 feet south of Bullock Road and 1.1 miles north of Cossart Road for a $15.2 million project to replace the bridge over the East Penn Railroad and Brandywine Creek in Pennsbury Township, Chester County, and Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County. No completion date has been given.

Glen Riddle Road Bridge

Until November 21: closure planned between Brandywine Drive and Wrights Lane in Middletown Township to replace the bridge that carries Glen Riddle Road over Chrome Run Creek. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses.

Route420

The $35.8 million PennDOT project aims to replace the bridges that carry the freeway over Darby Creek in Prospect Park and Tinicum Township.

In 2027: One southbound lane of the Route 420 Bridge over Darby Creek will be closed 24/7 as part of a four-year project to rehabilitate and replace the span.

Municipality of Thornbury

Station Road bridge 234: Closed 24 hours a day; no timetable for reopening.

PECO work

Route 3 (West Chester Pike): Through September 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a lane closure in both directions between Glen Gary Drive and Eagle Road in Haverford Township weekdays.

US 30 (Lancaster Avenue): Through October 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a weekday lane closure between Church Road and Old Wynnewood Road in Lower Merion Township.

MacDade Boulevard: Through December 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a lane closure between MacDade Mall Boulevard and South Avenue in Glenolden on weekdays.

Aqua Pa. work

US 1 (Township Line Road): Through July 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a lane closure between Alexander Avenue and Drexel Avenue, Drexel Hill, weekdays.

Beattyweg: There is a 24/7 closure between Chesley Drive and Surrey Road in Nether Providence Township through August 2.

Route 320 (Sproulweg): Through August 30, from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. the following morning on weekdays, there will be a one-lane closure between Beatty Road and the on-ramp to US 1 (State Road) in Springfield Township.

Brookhavenweg/Turnerweg: Closed and detoured between Route 252 (Providence Road) and Plush Mill Road in Nether Providence Township through August 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Conestogaweg: Through August 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, there will be a lane closure between Lowrys Lane and Glenbrook Avenue in Radnor Township.

Crossing road: Closed between Gaynor Road and Haverford Road until November 29, from 9am to 3pm.
