Mass shooting at West Philly party leaves 3 dead, multiple injured – NBC10 Philadelphia

At least three people were killed and six others injured in a mass shooting at a party in West Philadelphia on Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident happened during a party attended by about 100 to 150 people near the intersection of Alden Street and Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia around 2 a.m.

Speaking to NBC10 at the scene of the incident, Philadelphia Police Department Lt. D. F. Pace said all of the people killed were adult males.

One of the victims, a 33-year-old man, was interviewed at the scene and a 23-year-old man, who was shot in the leg and abdomen, was interviewed after being taken to a nearby hospital, Pace said.

The person found at the scene around 2:12 a.m. was shot at “very close range” and was likely a target, according to Pace.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., law enforcement officials provided an update, saying the third victim to die as a result of the incident was a 29-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen. He was identified at approximately 3:08 a.m., officials said.

Other victims, police said, included:

  • A 28-year-old man who was shot in the foot
  • A 28-year-old man who was shot in the thigh
  • A 26-year-old woman who was shot in the buttock
  • A 27-year-old man who was shot in the leg and suffered a graze wound to his head
  • A 28-year-old man who was shot in both shoulders and in his knee
  • And finally, a 30-year-old man who was shot twice in his left thigh

According to officials, the condition of all of these additional victims was stable as of 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Earlier in the day, police officials reported that 10 people had been shot in the incident, but in a morning update, investigators increased that number to nine.

Pace said the crime scene stretched for about half a block and that investigators found about 25 to 30 casings in the area.

“It appears there were multiple shooters. It’s unclear how many at this time,” Pace said.

Pace said investigators are still looking at surveillance footage to determine how this incident occurred. So far, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

“The investigation is still in its early stages and there are many unanswered questions,” Pace said.

However, he said officers found a firearm at the crime scene and an investigation is underway
