New features in Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra leaked

New code analysis reveals Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra will support satellite messaging and calling

Samsung is expected to equip its upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra with satellite connectivity, a much-awaited feature that was noticeably missing from the Galaxy S24 series.

This development, revealed through a detailed examination of Samsung app code by Android Authority, marks a major upgrade for the next-generation Galaxy smartphones.

The investigation uncovered references in Samsung’s phone app such as: “You are in satellite mode. You can send text messages, including to 911. Emergency calls may still connect if there is a mobile network available near you,” and “You can send and receive text messages in satellite mode. Emergency calls may still connect if there is a mobile network available near you.”

Samsung has been developing satellite communications capabilities for years. Despite earlier rumors suggesting it would be introduced on the Galaxy S23 and S24, the feature did not materialize in those models.

Apple, on the other hand, has successfully introduced a satellite emergency calling feature on its devices, and Google is integrating broader satellite support into Android 15.

Thanks to advancements in satellite communications and Google’s integration into Android, the Galaxy S25 Ultra (and potentially the entire S25 series) is poised to introduce these space-bound features to Samsung users.
