1 in critical condition after shooting near west side

INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that one person is in critical condition following a shooting on the west side of Indianapolis Sunday evening.

According to a press release from the department, officers responded to the call at 1600 W Vermont Street around 8 p.m. Sunday.


When officers arrived, they found a person who reportedly had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Officials said the person is in critical condition.

The department’s night watch is currently investigating the shooting. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
