Official title of JURASSIC WORLD 4 possibly revealed

The new Universal Pictures Jurassic World The film has been shooting in Thailand since mid-June and thanks to a reliable source, we may finally have an official title for the latest installment in the dino-disaster series.

According to Daniel Richtman, the film is called “Jurassic World: Rebirth.”

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story And Godzilla Director Gareth Edwards will direct the film, with Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing. Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono will star, with Scarlett Johansson in the title role.

This marks a return to franchise filmmaking for the highly sought-after Black Widow star, who has been a fixture in Marvel Studios’ MCU for years. There is no information about the character Johansson will play.

Specific plot details are also being kept under wraps, but we now have an idea of the general premise, and it appears the plan is to go back to basics by taking a page from the original. Jurassic Park‘s play.

The film is described as “a completely new take on the case, ushering in a new Jurassic era, in which three adults and three teenagers are trapped on the island.”

We assume that this island will be one of the Muertes Archipelago, or The Five Deaths. As for the title, the film is reportedly being called “Jurassic World 4” and rumor has it that it is Jurassic City.

The month-long production in Thailand was confirmed by Jaturon Phakdeewanit, director general of the country’s Ministry of Tourism, who said production will run from June 13 to July 16 in locations including Bangkok, Trang, Phang Nga, Phuket and Chiang Mai.

David Leitch was in talks to direct the film in early February, but parted ways a few days later. Apparently “It became clear to Leitch that his creative input would be minimal due to the rapid pace of the project and the way the producers wanted to have a stronger hand after the experience with Jurassic World: Dominion.”

Dominion Director Colin Trevorrow is not involved, but he did share his ideas for a possible sequel last year.

“The previous five films are plots about dinosaurs. This one is a story about characters in a world where they live with dinosaurs,” said the filmmaker. “In order for the franchise to continue – because it’s inherently unfranchisable, there probably should have only been one Jurassic Park – but if we’re going to do it, how do I allow them to tell stories in a world where dinosaurs exist, rather than, here’s another reason why we’re going to an island?”
