Family Services expands mental well-being workshops

Family Services Windsor-Essex is expanding its mental wellness workshops thanks to a donation from Caesars Windsor Cares.

With the $25,000, Family Services will be able to offer free workshops three times a week. The group workshops promote personal awareness and growth.

“Each session we provide is part of a four-part series and it helps people develop stronger coping skills. Ultimately, we want people to improve their resilience,” said Ciara Holmes, director of Mental Health and Counseling Programs at Family Services.

Each module is led by a qualified counselor who uses evidence-based techniques to promote personal awareness and growth.

“It is an honor to partner with Family Service Windsor-Essex to meet our community’s growing need for mental health support,” said Susanne Tomkins, Manager of Public Relations and Communications at Caesars Windsor. “Windsor-Essex is where we call home and we are proud of our strong legacy of volunteerism and investment, right here in our community.”

The workshop schedule can be found on the Family Services Windsor-Essex website. Those interested can pre-register or attend the workshops at the Langlois office.
