Attic fire damages home in Superior – Duluth News Tribune

SUPERIOR — All three Superior fire departments were called to the scene of a house fire in Superior Saturday evening, July 27.

According to a press release, crews were dispatched to 2310 Tower Ave. at 5:38 p.m. for a report of smoke coming from a facade vent. A fire was identified in the attic and quickly extinguished, but it took several hours to address the source of the fire due to cellulose insulation and other materials on site.

No civilians or firefighters were injured, and two cats were rescued. Damages are estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Our newsroom occasionally reports on stories under the name “staff.” Often, the name “staff” is used when rewriting basic news stories that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and require little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a news story has multiple authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from several sources. If outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
