Navi Mumbai police officers register murder case

Thane: The body of a 20-year-old woman was found in the undergrowth near Uran railway station in Navi Mumbai. A murder case has been registered, a police official said on Sunday.

The body was found at 2:15 am on Saturday, said deputy police chief Vivek Pansare.

The victim, who worked in Belapur, had taken a half-day leave on Friday and the murder is believed to have taken place between 3.30 pm and 4 pm that day, the DCP said.

“A case has been registered under section 103 of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against unknown person/s. Three teams have been formed to trace the accused. The Crime Branch is also investigating the case independently,” he informed.
