Raha, July 27: A truck driver died on Saturday in Raha, Nagaon district due to suspected heat stress amid scorching heat.

According to sources, the truck was on its way from Nagaon to Guwahati when the tragic incident took place. As per the information received, the driver of the truck parked his vehicle, bearing registration number NL 01 AA 3963, at Dighaliati area on NH 37 due to some technical problem in the vehicle.

While trying to fix the problem, he thought of something cold to drink that would be enough to take away the discomfort. He then drank water from a nearby store and died on the spot shortly after.

When the police were informed about this, they rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Nagaon Civil Hospital for autopsy.
