The prestigious 2024 Summer Olympics have recently kicked off in Paris. The opening ceremony on July 26 was attended by many famous personalities and celebrities, who have also graced some of the games. American singer and actor Nick Jonas is also attending the Olympics. But did you know that Nick’s visit to the Olympics is connected to his and Priyanka Chopra’s wedding?

Before heading to Paris, Nick Jonas appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During his time on the talk show, he revealed that he was attending the Paris Olympics because he got a phone call saying that Ralph Lauren was gathering a group of people to go to the event.

Nick revealed that the designer was a part of several important moments in his life, including his wedding to Priyanka Chopra. He said that Ralph Lauren dressed him and his wife for their wedding, and that they originally met because they were paired up by Ralph Lauren at the Met Gala years ago. Nick added that the Olympics were his favorite event.

During the show, Nick also touched on the fact that he is affectionately called Jiju by his fans in India, explaining that ‘Jiju’ means elder sister’s husband, which essentially makes him India’s elder brother. He admitted that he loves this endearment.

Priyanka Chopra celebrated her 42nd birthday on July 18 in Australia while filming for her upcoming film, The Bluff. She was joined by her daughter, Malti Marie. In a heartfelt note on Instagram, Priyanka thanked her husband for making the day special, even in his absence.

Priyanka wrote: “This year was a work birthday. I’ve had many over the years and have found this to be one of my favorite ways to celebrate. Being on a film set doing what I love. Thank you to my incredible husband @nickjonas who made his presence felt in such a special way even though he wasn’t there. The Dosa truck for the crew was amazing.”

For those who don’t know, Nick and Priyanka got married in December 2018 and welcomed their daughter Malti Marie via surrogacy in January 2022.
