Indian rower Balraj Panwar reaches quarterfinals of men’s singles

Paris, July 28 (PTI) India’s Balraj Panwar has reached the quarter-finals of the men’s single sculls rowing event after finishing second in the Repechage 2 event at the Paris Olympics on Sunday.

Panwar clocked a time of 7:12.41, finishing behind Mongolian Quentin Antognelli who clocked 7:10:00.

The first two participants of each repechage qualify for the quarter-finals.

Panwar remained consistent in second place, passing the 500m in 1:44:13, the 1000m in 3:33:94 and the 1500m in 5:23:22. He passed the 2000m in 7:12.41.

On Saturday, the Indian rower finished fourth in the men’s single sculls with a time of 7:07:11, qualifying for the repechage.
