On July 27, the Russian occupiers committed another crime against the civilian population of Ukraine by shelling the center of the city of Hlukhiv in the Sumy region.

Russia has attacked the town of Hlukhiv in the Sumy region, killing a child and wounding 13 civilians.

This was reported by the Sumy Prosecutor’s Office. According to the Shostka District Prosecutor’s Office, the enemy attacked Hlukhiv at around 12:40 with a multiple rocket launch system. The shelling caused great damage to civilian infrastructure and resulted in casualties among the civilian population.

Among the 13 injured were seven children. Sadly, a 14-year-old boy, who was taken to hospital in critical condition, died from his injuries.

The shelling caused significant damage to the town, including apartment buildings, private homes, an educational institution, a shop and vehicles.

The Shostka District Prosecutor’s Office has opened a preliminary investigation under Article 438, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder). Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the attack.

After the investigation is completed, the criminal case documents will be handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region for further investigation.
