Mobile internet resumes at 3pm: Palak

Minister of State for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak said mobile internet across the country will be restored around 3pm today after a disruption of nearly 10 days.

He disclosed the information during a briefing after a meeting with mobile operators at BTRC Bhaban in the capital on Sunday morning (July 28).

“4G internet service will be restored today. After the restoration of 4G service, 5G internet service will also be restored at a later period,” Palak said.

He also announced that all users will get 5GB of internet for free for three days once connectivity is restored.

The government shut down mobile internet on July 17 and broadband internet on July 18 due to violence surrounding the quota reform movement.
