One of the most anticipated events of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris gets underway on Saturday.

Eight countries will compete on Saturday to win a gold medal in the 5-on-5 basketball tournament that runs from July 27 to August 11, when the women’s gold medal match is scheduled.

However, Saturday will see the men’s pool begin first, featuring some of the biggest contenders for the Olympics, such as France and Canada. The list will be headed by a match between Greece and Canada, featuring All-NBA first-team players Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Canada).

Each team in Olympic basketball will face three opponents in the group stage before hopefully advancing to bracket play, where eight teams qualify. There are three groups (A, B, and C) and each group consists of four teams.
